Hi Linda, it’s Mary. I did a dendrology (tree identification) class in August and the students that showed up asked to learn about edible plants or plants that had specific uses. It was so hot in August, though! We were all drenched in sweat by the end of the class. So I am waiting til it cools down to offer the class again, probably toward the end of October.
I had actually wanted to do a wild foraging class but did not know how much interest there would be. You and a couple of other people have requested it, though. I will see about putting together a class specifically on identification of edible plants sometime in October or maybe November.
What days/times are best for you to do a dendrology/plant ID class? I work M-F during the day so I was going to try and do a weekend class for that one.
Also, can you be more specific about the practical science literacy?
I second the more details on practial science literacy. I would absolutely be interested in teaching a science based class if the needs fit my knowledge.
Would LOVE to be a part of a comic book discussion group!
I’d be interested in seeing a Zen Buddhist meditation session run by someone with experience in zazen, and Zen buddhist teachings in general, preferably from Soto school of thought.
I’d also like to see a drum work-shop as well.
Hi Scott, we had a drum class in August that went really well. We will see about getting the instructor to do it again sometime in October! What days/times work best for you?
I also would like to see a Scrabble group and cooking classes, especially vegan and gluten-free classes.
I’m also interested in jewelry-making, specifically hemp, and reconstructed clothing classes.
I hope to see belly dance and hoop dance offered again, preferably in the mornings or on the weekends.
Hi Amanda, I do the hoop dance classes. I work Mon-Fri during the day so most of my classes are nights and weekends. I will do the hoop class again on like a Sunday afternoon in October.
I also weave hemp. I will see about doing a hemp class sometime in October.
We actually had a “T-Shirt Surgery” class scheduled for September but unfortunately it had to be cancelled, so we’re trying to reschedule it for October. =)

Amanda, we’ve added a “Scrabble & More” games night, if you’d like to join us. For details check out the October calendar.

Is there anyone who would be interested in a once a month dance class? (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha). I love to dance and I love to teach… If there’s enough interest, I can get the wheels in motion to make this a regular event. Please give me your feedback. Thanks!!
I think that would be a GREAT class. I bet it could get some nice attendance, too. Can you go ahead and send us the info that’s listed on the “Teach a Class” page?
Can anyone teach origami?
I know the basics
I would love to see an Arduino class, or even any sort of beginning electronics, soldering, and the like. I would be happy to teach a gluten free cooking class, but I would need a place with a larger kitchen than my house
I’m sort of a Jill of all trades, & pretty uncomfortable teaching (Not shy, just weird) , I’d love to help w/ anything… really, anything.
I would like to attend a “how to survive a zombie apocalypse: materials and preparations” class.
Hi, I’m trying to organize workshops, skill sharings, and lectures for the Food Not Bombs World Gathering that will be here, in Tampa, from Monday, August 20th-Sunday, August 26th. Monday we won’t be doing much, other than a big, fun, welcoming event in the evening. Some classes I’m extremely interested in having, but currently have nobody to teach them, are canning/preserving, gardening/permaculture, bicycle repair & maintenance, and squatting & tenants’ rights. Anything else would also be appreciated.
We need a Speed-Reading Class! Or a class on increasing your ability to read quickly for comprehension, through practice methods! DOGGONE IT THERE AREN’T ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY!
I would love to take part in a beginner film making class.
